Gear in the Shed

It is good to know what supplies we have on hand in the shed so that they can be used
as needed. Here are the items kept in the shed:

• Orange Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs)
• Huli ropes
• Extra rigging line and rigging gear
• Safety buckets
• Running lights
• Cleaners
• Rags
• Extra bailers
• Club paddles
• Tools
• Waivers
• Sign-in sheets
• First aid kits/s
• Gear buckets for unrigged canoes
• Lanterns
• Extension cords
• Leather work gloves
• Hand sanitizers

Safety Check of Equipment Before Paddling

• Water tight compartments are dry,
• Boat plugs are in
• Rigging is tight
• Bailer and other equipment is secured properly
• Inspect hull for cracks
• PFDs are serviceable
• Huli rope
• Safety gear bucket
• Someone in each crew should have a cell phone
• Running lights if needed in times of limited visibility.
• Tow lines (for races)

Each canoe on the water has a white safety bucket which with the following items:

1. VHF Radio
2. Rigging Line
3. Bicycle Inner Tube
4. First Aid Kit with silver space blanket
5. 50 feet of rope
6. Duct Tape
